Today we visited SMK BUNDA MULIA, Vocational School. It is a Catholic, private, primary school with an impressive staff and study body. Students can study culinary arts, engineering, automotive, beauty, business and tourism.
Tourism students greeted us with Indonesian refreshments. They learn English and study Indonesian history. It is not an easy major, and it offers wonderful job opportunities.
There's Linda and Bob sampling a salak or "snake fruit." It looked like garlic cloves inside, but tasted like kiwi.
A real student store run by students in the business management program.
Students played a traditional Indonesian song for us.
We got to play, too!
All the students's closets are labels with their names. We noticed that many were Western names. I found this particular coincidence (seen above) to be priceless.
Catholic schools in Indonesia are much like those found in The United States. Students take religious studies class to learn the Catholic faith in greater depth, along with the national curriculum.
The Canteen.
Ramen.
Food is made fresh!
First graders.
Playing soccer. Great view of the city from the windows.
Selfies are big in Indonesia.
This schools looks very cool. I would love to go here, it looks like all the kids are very engaged and happy.
Looks so fun! Did you try other new fruits? What was the most interesting instruments that you played with? What kind of items did the school store sell?
Dr. Looks like an amazing trip! Drink it all in and remember to relax as well, BNO when you get back!
