We are breaking up into pairs to visit our host teachers and begin the one week, full immersion in an Indonesian School. As I pointed out in one of my earlier blogs, I will be going to South Kalimantan with Bob Frye to meet our host teacher, Muhammad Nazaruddin. Nazar is a TEA Fellow alumni from IREX, who studied in Washington D.C. and attended Kent State University for his experience.

South Kalimantan is a two hour plane ride from Jakarta.

Nazar will be showing us some of the sights, a taste of life in South Kalimantan, and help us navigate our teaching experience at his high school school, where he teaches English.

Nazar took us to see the market place. I never saw anything like it in my life. Amazing street food, produce, clothing, you name it.

I drank real coconut water.

Nazar treated me and Bob to dinner. Here we are with Nazar's wonderful family.

Here's me in Banjarmasin, the capital, ready for the next phase in this adventure.
